Project Description
East Coast Watercolours
Below is a collection of my watercolour paintings I completed from my trips to the St. Andrews by-the-Sea and the Bay of Fundy area of New Brunswick, Canada. I spent four summers (1993-96) with a group of other artists from Toronto on the East Coast of Canada studying watercolour painting with Chin Kok Tan. All of these paintings were painted En plein air. En plein air is the act of painting outdoors. This method contrasts with studio painting that might create a predetermined look.
This is myself painting “In for Repair” in the harbour of St. Andrews by-the-Sea.
Watch this video to learn more about St. Andrews by-the-Sea in the Bay of Fundy.
St. Andrew’s by-the-Sea was the summer destination of the rich and famous from the post Victorian era.
