The Gate - St. Andrews by the Sea 11 x 15 inches In behind the town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea is a cemetery. This painting is of the gates at the entrance to that cemetery. Some of the tombstones date back to the 1700's.

The evergreen trees in the background are draped in fog. The fog kept the watercolour paper damp giving the painting a blurry feel to it.

This road is only accessible at low tide. The painting I did is of the carriage trail that circles the island. On the island is the historic Sir William Van Horne
